you also mentioned that you had wanted to share what you were going through… im glad you did. i dont know what held you back all this time… but know that you are welcome to share whatever is on your heart with me at anytime. we are brother and sister in Christ… Galatians 6:2 says to carry each others burdens. we arent meant to live this life alone but to be there for each other. i know the pain you feel and will continue to pray for you as well. i dont know if you have facebook but im there more than i am here… youre welcome to look me up there. have a blessed day

kyle thank you so much for your encouragement. it means a lot. i read something his dad wrote about him… his dad stepped out and ministered to everyone else! it was amazing. my best Connor (Carsons cousin) is continually trying to lift me up and reasure me that its not my fault. but as you said… the pain and shame doesnt go away. i think this will be something i will always carry… but the burden has eased some. thank you for reminding of Gods continually presence and for pushing me to keep going. thank you for the prayers as well… they are felt and much appreciated.

hey. what im about to share has nothing to with bass lines or even music. i honestly just need to pour my heart out to my brothers and sisters… because this is probably one of the hardest times in my life that i have faced. on monday a friend of mine commited suicide. i hadnt known Carson long or very well. hhes my best friends cousin. anyway… he struggled with depression at times and talked to me about some of the things going on in his life. i began texting scriptures to him every morning to encourage him in the Lord and give him hope. id check on him every couple of days to see how everything was going. Sunday night i was up late packing for camp so i didnt type out a Scripture to send. i was soo sleepy. monday morning i didnt have time to type it … so i never sent one. that was the day he shot himself. he was only 18 years old. i feel soo guilty. what if that scripture wouldve been enough to give him hope and strength to hang in there longer? ill never know if God wouldve spoken through it or if it wouldve made the difference and hed still be here today. the guilt and sorrow i feel is agony. ive prayed and wept since monday morning. i still weep. i dont know if this will ever end. everyone tells me ’you cant do that to yourself.’ my loved ones have tried encouraging me… but this is a heavy burden that does not lighten. please pray for me. pray for Carsons family. thank you for the prayers annd listening. Christ be with you all.
Maegan thats awesome seeing you share such a difficult time in your life! I wanted to share a similar story I had with a coworker who committed suicide! I talked to him and we got along well…I could see that he was looking for someone to help him! I should have seen the signs that he was about to make peace with his ultimate decision! Only I was so inward focused that I walked on by him the day before he killed himself! I knew I was doing wrong because of the way I felt inside! But did I turn around…No! I came to work the next morning and they said he had commited suicide! I regret being selfish and not reaching out to him more! That day changed me forever because I could have at least tried…I could have at least tried! No regrets anymore! We are not meant to walk by someone who wants to feel the healing hand of God!
I guess what I’m trying to say is you did the best you could because you tried to help your friend! I know the pain and shame never goes away…but God gives you the strength to forgive yourself and to carry on! Keep going! I will be praying for you and the Carson Family!

thats pretty kool that you noticed that. i had not. sometimes it seems like there are so few Christians to begin with. ones that really live their faith… not ones that claim to be but seem not to care otherwise. i am a Christian. Jesus is the whole reason i play my bass. i only want to gorify Him with it. ive lived in complete denial and hatred of God… and now living for Him. Rick there is comparison! life without Jesus is no life at all! my life was HELL. and yeah… it can still be rough sometimes. but i know Hes gonna bring me thru it all. i have joy and peace where before Him i didnt. its pretty awesome

the band, Upward Call, is leading the entire worship service on Sunday. it’ll be our first time to do the whole service so please lift us up. i love praising my Lord and using music to bring others into a time of worship with Him as well… but it can make me alil nervous lol. prayers are much appreciated. thanks!
I know exactly how you feel. I love praising God and leading people to Him through music. Its my greatest joy … but I am nervous every single time … lol. I’m always praying to God to calm my nerves.

my band… or whats left of it… sat down and talked about what we’re all willing and wanting to do as a band. we are a Christian band… our greatest desire and purpose to is to glorify Jesus and minister to other thru our music. we are praying God allows us to go places and go far… we want to. right now we are down to 3 ppl. myself on bass, connor who can play a wicked guitar/piano/drums and bryan on vocals/piano. our our other guitarist/fill-in drummer is on a mission trip to kenya. and our drummer has left us twice. we are still without one. when he left we lost not only a drummer but a friend. it doesnt matter how many ppl you have… as long as you are on the same page and keeping Jesus at the ceenter Gods gonna work it out. ill be praying for you… i know the place youre in is rough. and ill be praying for your best friend too. connor our guitarist is my best friend and when he told me several months ago that he was considering leaving it was crushing. im glad he stayed… cus its not the same without the ppl who are important to you. peace brother.

make that 3. its been one of those times when everything is at the peak of awesome… then you end up on the bottom totally crushed and not sure how it got to this point. someone told me that ’people will be your biggest disappointment’. that is so true… as ive experienced this week. but its a bblessing to still have others that share encourage. thanks dude

ive been playing bass for about 5 years now. ive been in a band for a year and a half. you will learn so much more playing in a band! remember that the bass ties the drums and guitar together to make it all flow. so find a guitarist that is easy to work with and help you with chords…and find a drummer that can keep a steady beat. if so youre set! even if you just have a gutarist its amazing what you can leard and do.
